Champions League 2026/2027 tickets
Champions League tickets give you a European football night with clubs from across the continent. Here you can buy tickets for Champions League matches and watch the clubs competing for the title. Matches are mainly played on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and the anthem rings out around the stadium as the teams line up. The competition has its own format and its own pace, which makes every night more than just another match.
About Champions League
The tournament started as the European Cup with the first final in 1956 and was renamed the UEFA Champions League in 1992. Real Madrid has the most titles, 15, followed by AC Milan with 7, and Bayern Munich and Liverpool with 6 each. The competition begins with a league phase of 36 teams, where each team plays eight matches against eight different opponents, four at home and four away. The top eight go straight to the round of 16, and teams 9 to 24 meet in a two-legged play-off for the remaining places, followed by knockout rounds to a single-match final.
The big matches in Champions League
The 2005 final in Istanbul saw Liverpool turn a 0-3 deficit into a penalty shoot-out win. The 2025 final was won 5-0 by Paris Saint-Germain against Inter, and the 2026 final in Budapest was won by PSG against Arsenal on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are other names that often return among the titles.
The atmosphere in the stadiums
The Champions League anthem was written in 1992 by Tony Britten after Handel's “Zadok the Priest” and is sung in English, French and German. It is played in the stadium before every match as the teams line up, and the star ball is the competition's trademark. If you want to see the Champions League live, it is that evening atmosphere that sets the competition apart from all others, with the anthem, the ball and the teams lined up.
