Villarreal Champions League 2026/2027 tickets

Villarreal Champions League tickets give you a European night with El Submarino Amarillo, the yellow submarine. Here you can buy tickets for Villarreal's home matches in the Champions League and watch the club that won the Europa League in 2021 on penalties against Manchester United. The yellow shirt and the mascot Groguet, a yellow submarine, make the nights easy to recognise.

Villarreal in Europe

Villarreal was founded in 1923 in Villarreal and has no league title, but has been runner-up in La Liga. In Europe the club won the Europa League in 2021 after a 1-1 draw and an 11-10 penalty shoot-out win over Manchester United in Gdańsk, the club's first major title. The 2021 Super Cup was lost to Chelsea on penalties. The Champions League semi-final was reached in 2006 against Arsenal, losing 0-1 on aggregate, and in 2022 against Liverpool. The Intertoto Cup was won in 2003 and 2004. The club spent 75 years in the lower divisions before joining La Liga in 1998.

Champions League matches not to miss

The 2021 final against Manchester United is the night the supporters remember. The semi-finals against Arsenal in 2006 and Liverpool in 2022 made Villarreal a name in the Champions League. If either of those sides come to Villarreal, it is a meeting with history.

The atmosphere on Champions League nights

The nickname Submarino Amarillo comes from the Beatles' “Yellow Submarine”: in the late 1960s young supporters played the song on a battery-powered record player and sang their own Spanish words about the team's yellow colour. The song is still part of the club's identity, and the anniversary anthem “Endavant Villarreal” was recorded in Abbey Road Studios as a nod to the Beatles. Villarreal tickets in the Champions League give you a place in a yellow crowd.
